Today is Father's Day and it seems wrong to say Happy Father's Day so I'm not going to. Like any other day you are not far from my thoughts but we have not been up to Tithe Green as we have been up there a lot lately. Instead we have laid flowers on the graves of both your parents at Woodhouse cemetery. We have had Sunday dinner up at your house as normal, with roast potatoes and home-made caramel shortbread, which I'm sure you'd have wolfed down! We were never big on Father's Day, like lots of other days which have become over-commercialised to which you'd say "save your money", but we really didn't mark it much at all after Father's Day 2013 when mum was at the hospice in her final days. The following year you told us in advance you didn't want to do Fathers Day and I remember giving you a bottle of whisky the week before instead "not for Fathers Day" (but of course it was really!). This year me and Chris have made donations through your obituary to round-up the total collections to exactly £1,000 including GiftAid - I wish you could see how well loved and thought of you were x
