I only met John once - on a bitterly windy December morning when he and Suzanne picked me up to take me to Heanor to jog 10k and be given a Christmas pudding at the end of it. Thinking about it, it seems mad I only met him the once as having worked closely with Suzanne for a number of years and hearing her talk about him, I really felt that I knew him pretty well. It has always been very clear to me that John was a man who loved his family immensely and looked after them with all of his heart. It is also obvious that he and Jackie did a remarkable job in raising such a lovely, kind and warm family who are a lasting legacy and the greatest and most perfect tribute there could be to this much loved man X Rachael Harding
