Christopher Combes was born in 1970 to John and Jackie.  The family lived at Mill Street, Mansfield.  Chris and John had a shared love of football, with John taking Chris to a number of Mansfield Town games as a boy.  They both avidly supported Nottingham Forest F.C. and had been season ticket holders for around 25 years, even travelling to Germany to watch their European cup match with Bayern Munich (back when Forest were doing very well!)
