You're in my thoughts a lot today after running the virtual Doncaster 10k (the real one is cancelled due to Covid - yes, that's still causing chaos) around the streets of Forest Town and Clipstone, taking in a lot of the roads we used to run on and that you were stomping around right up until the day before you left us. You were so chuffed with that race last year - I remember showing you a picture of the medal beforehand which made your mind up about running it, and you buying that funny 'Mr Slow' running top from the Scimitar stall at the end which got lots of smiles and comments from fellow runners at Edwinstowe 10k and Parkruns. I had a little laugh to myself thinking about the long hill (not very steep) in the first half and you moaning to me that I'd told you it was a flat course and us playfully arguing about whether it was "a hill" (you) or "a small incline" (me). Then a woman passed us shouting "it's a hill!" Didn't stop you signing up again for this year though so you definitely loved it! If you were here you'd have run with me today and been checking that virtual leaderboard constantly to make yourself feel better that there were plenty of people running slower than you!
